If you are a Sears Allstate/Vespa purist, you probably won't like this scoot.  BUT, if you want a peppy vintage Vespa that will get lots of attention, this is your chance.  This was purchased from the titled owner who had disassembled the bike completely and left it that way.  Using that as a starting point, I made the decision to make this a unique bike with an upgraded top end, exhaust and carb.  It was painted Toyota blue and is really striking on a vintage scooter like this.  The original Allstate 125cc engines were probably OK 50 years ago, but this 177cc Pinasco cylinder and head with carb/exhaust combination makes this really fun to ride.  The body fenders have 3M soundproofing which keeps the noise level very acceptable.  The body underside is coated with rock guard, front end has been upgraded with a sprung suspension.  The original parts that were in good condition were reused but most of the scooter sports new hoses, cables, wiring harness, lighting, footrails, rubber trim, seat and grips.  The luggage rack chrome was beginning to flake so I had it powdercoated.  The original speedometer's odometer was reused with a new face and glass.  All unused original parts will go with this scooter (including the muffler, carb, 125cc cylinder, piston and head).  It has a little oil seep under the gearbox after it has been sitting for a bit.  Doesn't seem to be a problem, just wanted to mention it.The guys at Scooterwest in San Diego rebuilt the stator assembly.  The new top end has strong compression yet it starts very easily.  With its peppy performance I would think it would be great as a local commuter, easily keeping up with traffic speeds (unlike the original 125).  I have not ridden it over 45mph but it definitely has the power and I don't doubt it could hit 60.  Lights are nice and bright (even with this battery-less system) , everything works.  I resisted the urge to cover it with Vespa sticker memorabilia.  I will leave the personalizing to the new owner.I will be driving from Maryland to Montana at the end of June and will be happy to deliver it to points along the way for a reasonable fee.  Otherwise, making arrangements for shipping and pickup is buyer's responsibility. A deposit of $100 is due at the end of the auction, and balance due in cash or major bank check.
