Rare opportunity to purchase a Stainless Steel V8 trike. This unfinished trike was built by an engineer who unfortunately passed away before he could get it finished. It is constructed from stainless steel tubbing with two stainless steel jerry can fuel tanks and matching stainless steel padlocks (keys will be supplied with the trike). The exhaust system, including all eight hand built silencers are also stainless steel as is nearly everything else on the vehicle apart from the handle bars and things that obviously cant be stainless. It is powered by a Rover 4.0 litre V8 engine and auto gearbox from a Rover SDI car. I have copy of the original logbook, which will come with the vehicle. The back axle is from a Jaguar and was apparently completely rebuilt before being put into the vehicle. it has been fitted with a new radiator and Kenlowe fan, a new brake servo unit. There are two brand new matching SU carbs which alone currently cost £673.00 according to Burlin Fuels The front tyre is brand new and the back ones appear to be virtually new as well, although I can’t confirm that they are. The engine is in excellent condition and runs fine. The cylinder heads were removed recently to check for any bore wear and there isn’t any visible signs of wear. New gaskets fitted of course and torqued up. The engine was flushed with flushing oil as it had been stood for some time. New oil was added along with a new oil filter. It also has 8 new spark plugs. The gearbox has just had new transmission fluid in it and appears to work fine. As far as I can see, jobs that need doing are : Brakes to be be piped in and a master cylinder required. Head light and rear marker lights needed. Two rear light clusters have been fitted (not wired up) and there is a pair of second hand front indicators that come with it. Speedo needed. seats need finishing off. Battery needed, but battery leads are already fitted though. Front callipers need fitting (they are with the vehicle) Handlebar controls needed along with carb linkages. Complete wiring needed along with switches etc. Thousands of pounds have already been spent on this vehicle, not to mention hundreds of man hours. The two jerry cans alone were circa £400 (receipt available) once completed, this trike will look truly awesome (it does already), will be the centre of attention and be worth big bucks. It will of course need to be trailered away I have put what I believe is a realistic reserve on it. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them as accurately as I can. £200 deposit to be paid within 48 hours of purchase please. Details to be arranged, but no Pay Pay, sorry. Balance can either be in cash upon collection or paid into my bank account. To be discussed. Vehicle advertised elsewhere, so I reserve the right to withdraw it from the auction at any time if necessary. Happy bidding |
