Here we have for sale my Custom Harley Davidson / VW Beetle Trike.Based around an early VW Beetle, the 1300cc Twin Port engine has been recently overhauled.The gearbox has also been fully re-built as have the rear brakes and new cylinders, linings, drums and Hand brake cables have been fitted.The Harley Davidson Custom Springer Style front forks, handlebars, brake, wheel and tyre are all new and work really well. The trike has been fully re-wired with new lights all round. The trike was MOT'd in 2012 and 2013, but has not been used recently due to personal reasons.Although this is a fabulous Custom Trike, there is still ample scope for the new owner to put their mark on it as it was always re-built with future improvements in mind. There is scope for more chrome, more performance, or Custom Paint. The present paint job is just a solid blue, so 'Metal Flake' or 'flames' or 'graphics', whatever you desire. This is a very good trike with adequate frame strength to allow for further modifications.Re-built by Whitspeed Custom Fabrications in 2011 the Trike now features a complete bespoke tube chassis which retains the original VW torque tube rear suspension. The new Custom Designed head-stock allows the use of Harley Davidson 'Springer Style' front forks, wheel and front brake. The new, stronger chassis reduces flexing and improves ride and road-holding whilst improving the lines and looks of the trike. Guaranteed to draw a crowd wherever it goes. Many original features on this trike. Hand made Custom front and rear seats in wipe clean material. Beer barrel fuel tank. Bespoke, hand made pedal assembly. Flying Skull Axe Head motif. Custom exhaust system. Originally built and registered as a Trike in 1997, Whitspeed, have since completely restored and upgraded it in 2011. The overall layout and the major components are as the original vehicle, but a brand new bespoke chassis has been fabricated as it was found that the original chassis had fatigued "where car became trike," and that some of the original construction had become unsafe. Because the new chassis has been made as one, it is now impossible for it to fail.This is a totally unique vehicle and as such we highly recommend any potential new owner to come and inspect it, to make sure you know exactly what you are getting.
