One of the many companies to produce quarter and half midgets during the 1950’s was the Moss MidJET Sales Corporation, 192 E. Beach Avenue, Inglewood, CA. Moss produced eyecatching quarter midget and half midget versions for drivers from age 3 to adult. These sharp cars utilized positive rack and pinion steering, 3 H.P. Continental engines, a 1” diameter rear axle running in sealed self-aligning ball bearings, friction shocks, 50 3/8” wheelbase, 34” tread, with 6” diameter front and rear wheels and tires. Bodies were one-piece heavy fiberglass with a removable tail cone.The MID JET which is offered here is a virtually complete unit which the restorer can rebuild as a barn find, or completely restore for resale, competition, or as a display piece in the ultimate museum or man-cave. I acquired this with the hopes of doing just that, but another recent acquisition has pushed this project farther back to the dissatisfaction of many of my grand children! Grandpa needs to look at the big picture, an as a result this ol' girl is for sale. The engine is "wrong" for the factory built model but it is period correct according to the factory representatives at Kohler. It fits nicely under the tail cover which is also provided with the purchase.I will cooperate with your shipper, but the local crater that we have all used on the Monterey Peninsula has now retired, ans as such, purchaser will need to make arrangements for crating a shipping.Please ask any questions regarding this great little racer prior to bidding.
