1979 FUNCO SS2 Sand RailThis IS a used vehicle with an estimated 1,000 miles or less, and in relatively good condition. Since I purchased it from the previous owner, I have had some shop-work done to it to increase it's reliability and lifespan. This includes a brand new battery, refurbished starter, carburetor, master cylinder, oil pressure sensor, and replaced three of the five spark plugs that were starting to get old. This vehicle IS street-legal. Went through the DMV process to have the buggy inspected and registered for road-worthiness. With that being said, it does have working headlights, turn signals, brake lights and horn -  VIN and a Title, too!It is equipped with a 1915cc dual-port VW engine; 22-gallon gas tank; drum brakes in the front, disk brakes in the back; CROW 5-point safety harness in the both driver and passenger seats. The tires are in seemingly great condition with plenty of tread left - great for off-roading and trailblazing.
There is additional wiring by the left, side-view mirror for mounting lighting to to roof. You enter and exit the vehicle through the roof. There is a fiberglass "hatch" secured by a bungee cord that opens towards the hood.Switches on the dashboard control the gas pump, electricity, headlights, etc.Push-button start - no key needed.Steering wheel is detachable (as why it is not present in the photographs). The blue, fiberglass panels can be added or removed by turning the bolts a quarter-turn.
Known issues: When down-shifting shifting from 3rd to 2nd gear, sometimes it does not fall into place; however wiggling the shifter, or going back into 3rd, and trying again has been my ultimate fix.
This vehicle is for sale locally. I am selling this vehicle AS-IS. I can provided additional photographs or video as necessary; however, face-to-face inspection of the vehicle is preferred, and test drives are encouraged. Serious offers will be entertained. No "tire-kickers".Any questions can be directed to my cell-phone - texting is preferred. Logan @ (865) 556-6607
