Offering my 1964 Vespa GS160 Series 2 all original scooter for a new home. I purchased this bike off eBay in 2001 and have put about 1,000 miles on it in the last 15 years. It starts easily every time and rides and runs like the odometer's mileage purports - tight and solid. The guy I bought it from purchased it from the original owner and it appears the bike seized at 2,100 miles or so and then sat until switching hands in Connecticut and my bringing it out to California, making me the third owner. After I received it, I had Tim Stafford from TJ Scoots (Now Tim Stafford Restorations - check out his Website) go through all the mechanics and replace everything that needed it - In 2001 a $1,500 repair bill. The reason for the engine seizure was a poorly replaced piston pin, likely after the first de-coke, and the motor seized up. Good for me, and now the next owner as a simple rebore with an NOS third over piston returned the motor to thumping glory and allowed the bike to stay a low mile example all these years. I have a copy of the original Connecticut title showing the first owner to have been 48 at the time of original purchase, meaning that it was likely bought for a teenager who rode it like a teenager as there are plenty of minor scuffs and bruises that one might expect in 2,100 miles of use from one. Now the bike has been living  the charmed life going out for short beach cruises for the last 15 years and is ready for a new home. I have taken ample photos of the scoots originality, scuffs and all so please have a look. The paint still shines nicely and the chrome and aluminum are nice as shown in the photos. Note the correct brown primer on the inside of the cowls. The glovebox for some reason seems to have a different coat of paint on it, not quite sure why, but the original lock is in place (no key) and the fork lock is keyed and works as it should. Clean California Title and current registration in hand. The reserve is close to the asking price and is fair for what you see here - an original unmolested Vespa GS with super low miles. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer - I can deliver (ride) to the freeway nearby for a big rig pick up and will be happy to meet with a shipper of your choice for pick up there or at the scooter's garage. Please let me know if you have any questions and thank you for your interest. NOTE - The last 2 digits of the VIN have been obscured in the photos as I do not want these photos and the actual VIN out there for scammers to glean for a fake ad as is becoming more common these days.
