This is restored Coot ATV. Every nut and bolt has been taken apart and has been sandblasted, rebuilt, and or replaced. All new gears, seals, grease fittings, bearings, bushings, ect.... It has its Original 12hp engine that was rebuilt and it even has electric start. Runs like new. It has a 2 speed transmission with high and low gear, as well as reverse. The body was sandblasted and painted with original military paint on the exterior and the interior was painted with anti-skid military paint to prevent slipping and rusting issues in the future. This Coot is All Wheel Drive and it even has 4 wheel steering. 4WS Coots are rare and hard to find. Most had front wheel steering only.
The best parts about a Coot is that they have unique articulating bodies. That means that the 2 tub sections twist and articulate in order to maintain traction at all times. See the first photo. The body essentially twists in the center to keep all 4 wheels in contact with the ground or object al all times. This combined with 4 wheel steering means this little tank will climb up mountain sides, over logs and boulder, and never slow down... For those of you who do not know this things is a workhorse. They were designed to use and not be play toys. I have seen these with cherry pickers on them, oil and water well drills, used in logging operations, hunting, or used on the ranch. These were the Polaris of the late 1960's and early 70's. Many would say they are better. The will climb places a Polaris will not without breaking anything, they can cruiser through the water because they are amphibious, and with 4WS or 4 wheel steering, this thing can out maneuver and Polaris and drive both in and out of places the Polaris could only dream about.This Coot was fully restored as title states and has been driven about 10 minutes since restoration. It needs a few finishing touches. No seat backs are currently installed and they are optional. For safety purposed I would put some one it. I have an original seat back and the factory bars to install if you wish. The belt will probably need adjusted. I did not do that yet because I thought it might lossen up after a bit more driving. It also needs a heat shield installed on the motor. I currently have one bolted to the lower seat bottom, however I would put a shield on the engine too. Note. The protective shield for the chain was removed for the photos and is included with the sale. I also have additional parts that come with it. Manual, parts diagram, extra transmission, gears, bearings, ect.. I will be placing a link to a YouTube video in the next few days.
