Description Make: Yamaha Model Year: 2001 Model: SUV1200 4 Seater 1200 SUV Trailer Included: Yes
The Yamaha SUV 1200 is a 4 person capacity Waverunner with tons of storage for whatever you need to bring along for your day on the water. From your coolers or ski's/wakeboards, even tents for camping on your own secluded beach this Waverunner will hold it all. With room to bring the whole family and unmatched performance the Yamaha SUV is a wonderful alternative to a small runabout or fishing boat and it is so much easier to trailer, store, and maintain. This model was only manufactured from 1999-2004 and is highly regarded and sought after as the ultimate personal watercraft. Power comes from a reliable 135 Horsepower 3 cylinder two-stroke and although the sheer size may intimidate I assure you it is an absolute blast to ride. I liken it to a Cadillac ride with Corvette performance. This Waverunner has also become a viable platform for offshore fishing, a google search will show you some of the wild and fun fishing machines that have been built from the Yamaha SUV 1200. I have personally owned 4 Yamaha SUV's since 2000 and have loved each and every one. I originally bought this Waverunner for my girlfriend but she prefers riding with me so, honestly, it's just not being used. I have invested a lot of money into the rebuild because I thought I was going to be keeping this Waverunner for a long time but unfortunately it needs to go to a new home to be enjoyed. I could have saved hundreds of dollars by cutting corners or using cheaper parts but I wanted this Waverunner to be reliable for my family into the distant future. When I purchased this Waverunner the back cylinder had low compression due to an oil injection line failure (A pretty common occurrence with this engine). The engine was rebuilt using new, top quality parts and it now performs flawlessly. The oil injection system was removed and it now requires gas/oil premix. The oil tank is still in place and I think I have the injection system somewhere in my garage if the winning bidder is interested in converting it back and I will include it should I be able to locate it of course. While the engine was out for rebuild the entire drive line was also rebuilt with new parts to insure reliability and performance. The engine was rebuilt with all new parts including:
Hot Rod Crankshaft
Pro X Pistons (.050 over)
100% all new gaskets
The cylinders were bored .050 over and both the cylinder and head were machined to ensure a perfect "in spec" mating surface. The new drive line includes a new intermediate shaft with new bearings and seals and a new bearing housing. A new driveshaft with all new pump bearings and seals and a new "rebuildable" impeller housing with a replaceable plastic liner ($40 repair vs $350 if ever damaged by debris).Cosmetically I haven't done much to this Waverunner since I bought it except wash and wax it. The gelcoat is shiny and in great condition. There are a few stress cracks in the gelcoat here and there which is typical for the age but there is no structural or fiberglass damage. There may have been a small repair on the nose of the ski at one time as there is a very slight color difference in the gelcoat on the nose. It is barely noticeable and I only just noticed it for the first time myself as I was waxing the ski before taking the photos for this ad. I see no evidence of a major repair in this area. I'm guessing a previous owner had some "dock rash" cleaned up. The graphic decals are almost completely gone on the starboard side and in fair condition on the port. I would remove them as replacements are no longer available from Yamaha. I have seen aftermarket graphics available on eBay for around $180 per set if you like. The seat covers are in poor condition and need to be replaced. A new set can be purchased online for around $155. The seat foam and pan appear to be in a good and usable condition. The clear coat on the hood and cowling is also in rough shape as the photos show. There are also three screw holes on the top of the hood where a previous owner had mounted something (GPS maybe?). These can be easily filled before painting. I was going to replace the seat covers and repaint the hood and cowling but I will leave that to the new owner as color choice is a personal decision (and I have invested enough). The gauge panel was unreadable so it was replaced with a brand new OEM unit ($809.87 and currently unavailable) at the time the engine and pump was rebuilt so the hourmeter is accurate for total time on engine/drive line. All other features on the gauge panel (RPM, Speedometer, Fuel Level, etc) are 100% working with the exception of the oil tank level indicator which always reads full as it is bypassed due to the removal of the oil injection system and conversion to gas/oil premix. This Waverunner has been run on only ethanol free gasoline and genuine Yamaha Yamalube oil since the rebuild. This Waverunner was thoroughly washed inside and out and the engine was flushed immediately after every use since I have owned it.The battery is about 1 year old.The cables on the adjustable trim are frozen and the trim is stuck in the "neutral" position. I have owned 4 SUV's over the years and they all had this same problem. You can fix it if you want but I don't think it really makes any difference and I always rode in the "neutral" position all the time anyways. There is an aftermarket drop down boarding step at the stern for easy boarding from the water. There is also an aftermarket automatic electric bilge pump installed. This auction includes a galvanized single axle trailer. The springs and axle have some rust but I feel it is road worthy. I have pumped grease into the bearing buddies but have not checked/repacked the wheel bearings. I would recommend doing this before any long trip. A new set of tires would probably be a good idea as well. The tread seems good and they appear to be in good shape but I have no idea how old they are and probably wouldn't trust them for a long journey at highway speeds. I have a free and clear Florida Title in hand for the Waverunner. The State of Florida does not title trailers of this size but I have the current registration which I will provide along with a bill of sale.Reserve is set to well below what I have invested. I have tried my best to describe this Waverunner honestly and accurately. Inspections before the Auction end are encouraged and welcomed. The Waverunner is located at my residence in Saint Petersburg, FL. Send me a message to arrange a viewing. Obviously this is a 15 year old Waverunner and although I am confident in the reliability of this Waverunner all sales are final and as is/where is with no warranty expressed or implied.More about the Yamaha SUV from a google search:The four-person WaveRunner® SUV1200™ redefined the term "personal watercraft" when it became the first watercraft to offer seating for an entire family, a whopping 116 gallons of storage for extended adventures and its own trailer for added value and convenience. The "1999 Watercraft of the Year," the SUV is designed to deliver unequalled versatility and performance for the owner that enjoys the adventure and thrill of personal watercraft riding, but wants the storage and towing ability of a top-notch waterski boat.Convenience and versatility aside, the SUV's unique hull design makes it a superb rough water boat that also handles better than most two-person watercraft. Loaded with features like tilt steering, reverse, adjustable trim and full instrumentation that includes the industry's first programmable security system, the SUV is the most complete, most reliable four-person watercraft today
