Up for auction is a nice mini bike project I never got around to finishing. The frame is in nice shape, the brake bracket is slightly bent. The forks will need a couple of shims on top of the bearings to take up small extra spacing. Forks have rust on them, but they are not bent. Not sure of the manufacturer of the bike, it looks a lot like Ruttman or LiL Indian.
Wheels are vintage 6" with new heavy duty bearings installed, new fenders and new seat. You will need to add a jack shaft to fit this engine, 2 new jack shaft mounts are included. The engine is a Westbend 580. I purchased 2 of these from the same prior owner, he had stated he rebuilt both of them. I used one in another mini bike project and it worked great. I have not started this one but I can see new gaskets, seals, etc. It has very good spark and a lot of compression. Looks very nice.Nice Westbend exhaust and reed box. The crank rotates clockwise so it will need to mount with the carb forward and the exhaust to the rear. The crankshaft in this engine is for the 9/16 clutch, which is hard to find so I am including a new Westbend crank to fit this engine. It will accept a 3/4 clutch which are easy to find.I have installed 2 of these crankshafts in other Westbend 580's with good results. You will need to buy or fabricate an engine mount for the engine. The gas tank is old and vintage, I did not see any leaks. There are some dings on the tank and pitting on the bottom, some light rust inside. This is not a complete mini bike, you will need to add items to finish it so take a good look at the pictures and email with any questions. Nice start to a build of a cool vintage mini bike.
