Well, it is with bitter regret that I've decided to sell probably the finest engineered Reliant 850 trike available in the UK (“~)... A few years ago, I remember buying Back Street Heroes biker magazine purely on the strength of a build feature on this very trike, and to find that it was available to buy back in the summer meant that it was a must have- I was like a kid in a sweet shop, even though I was originally looking for a pro built VW/Harley/Dragstar type trike! The owner & friends were great to deal with, pointing out the fact that it was purpose built for a 5' 8” owner and I'd have to do some adjustments, as I happen to be a 6 footer...
For whatever reason, the changes planned never did happen- it's still a neat, low trike...
The right foot pedal covers both the front and rear brakes, the left foot pedal the clutch. It's a 4 speed manual with reverse gear.
It has a Honda Superdream front wheel, Ducati 900SS front forks, Nova rear discs with Golf calipers, etc., etc. Here it is for sale again, sadly; I'm sure that it won't be minded, me using most of the original advert- 'Here I have for sale my friends beautiful Reliant Trike 850cc, it is a well known trike, only being sold due to a genuine reason and really someone will be lucky to own this trike. It is a BSH feature trike and had a big write up- some of the pictures I have scanned in for you to view, and it has had the best of everything during its build and constant improvement over the years. Recently it has had a full brake refurbishment and stove enamel coating applied including all new cables, the engine has also been fully rebuilt with all new liners pistons clutch etc. and runs beautifully. It has also had a recent electronic ignition upgrade and new leads (I've changed the red HT leads on the photos for shorter 'made to measure' orange leads since) as well as many other finishing touches. I cannot stress enough that this is a trike that you can turn up and ride away in confidence, not something that has been lashed together- years of thought and upgrades have made this into something very special. The pillion seat is removable for the cool single seat look if required.Of course you can change and adapt the trike to add your touches but isn't that part of owning something like this?' View also http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/ for some background and http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/Trikespageimages/muffinstrike/words.htmlThe trike has been recently MOT'd (April 2017) with no advisories and tyres etc. are all perfect as you would expect. A few spares are available and can be discussed with the new owner.I have added a video on YouTube here https://youtu.be/1ePvqYxXjII It really runs and rides as you would expect.' The trike would need collection from Cheddar, Somerset BS27; viewing/inspection is welcome, test drives only with full insurance, I'm afraid. No 'under 10 feedback' bids without prior agreement! It will not be 'given away'- I'd rather keep it and leave it to my son (he'd love it)! PX using ebay rules on cheaper legal/pro built, interesting trike (that fits a six footer) may be considered...
Good luck bidding on this beautiful machine.
On 30-Sep-16 at 10:27:18 BST, seller added the following information:Please don't ask what the reserve price is!It's a relatively small and neat trike, even though it has a full width rear axle; for those interested, it's approx. 230cm long, 157cm wide, and seat height is around 55cm- pretty low.£100 deposit within 24hrs of purchase, please, then cash or cleared Bank transfer on collection. The trike is advertised elsewhere, so I have to reserve the right to remove it if previously sold...
