What can we say? We love the fact that the YXZ has a sequential shift transmission!No CVT system means no belts to worry about, and less HP loss between the motor and rear wheelsWith all of the quick shifting we were doing in the desert and in the dunes, we never missed a shiftThis is the best feeling transmission we have used in just about anything we have drivenIt was exhilarating to slam through the gears and feel the YXZ continue to pull with every throwNot only can the YXZ handle long whoop sections with ease, it can also corner like the true sport UTV it isThe cockpit is extremely comfortable […] and the interior of the YXZ sort of just wraps around you, givingyou a feeling of security without sacrificing roominessForward visibility in the YXZ is fantastic

How’s the Rekluse Clutch?It doesn’t increase or decrease performance of the Yamaha YXZ 1000R; it simply prevents the YXZ from stalling when coming to a stop. It has no effect on shifting whatsoever. The Rekluse clutch is a great purchase for new drivers or those spending their time rock crawling, mud bogging or on tight woods trails.o Shift or Not To Shift?
The Fox Shox that comes stock on the machine are fully adjustable and compression can be set to make the ride smoother in rough terrain. We took the YXZ1000R and pinned it into the sand whoops at 70 mph and the suspension stayed consistent and the machine went straight throughout the bumps.Starting at $19,799.00, the insanely fun sequential shifting side-by-side will cost you a pretty penny. However, the biggest downsides to this machine is that it does not have a low gear, so those who wish to play on tight, technical, and gnarly terrain may find that this isn’t the best option as a family rock-crawler. Still, this machine would make a good chase vehicle for a long-distance motorcycle ride, since it could carry water, snacks, extra fuel and spare parts in its 300 lb-capacity cargo bed. While we will never give up two-wheels for four, we wouldn’t mind adding this to our garage of off-road toys.
