If you are looking for a project sandrail, don't waste your time and move on.
There are plenty of those out there for around $1500 - $3000.
This is a completely redone, rare four seater, with a NEW 1800cc high performance engine installed last year.
VW engine built and installed by Bruce himself at McNab Auto in Pompano. Originally a 1972 VW bus.
(If you are in South Florida, and you are interested in VW's of any sort, and you don't know McNab Auto, just stop reading and look them up. You can't own a VW here without knowing about this place. Can't say enough good things. Anyway...)

This is a daily driver, built mostly by me, garage kept its whole life, and well-cared for.
Defender powder coated extended frame to protect you and your precious cargo in the two REAR, that's right baby, REAR seats in this extremely rare bird called a four-seater. It used to be a VW bus until it was reincarnated as the sweetest sandrail on this coast. Note that there are additional side rails to protect from side impact. Cage extends behind engine as well to protect from rear. This is a racing frame designed to protect from bumping other rails on the track. Now I know you won't be racing this thing, but just in case...
Disc brakes on all four.
Baja lights
Police siren (works really well when a--holes don't move out of your way. It's one thing if they are busy gawking at what an incredible piece of machinery you are driving, but when someone is gabbing on a cell phone and fails to heed the magnificent that is behind them, this siren makes them basically sh-t themselves)
5 point racing harness on both front seats.
Wide bucket rear seat with seatbelt.
Hydraulic clutch (yes that is correct, no annoying cable to adjust tension)
Extra set of sand tires for the front
Extra set of individual rear seats (not pictured, but you can have them. I installed the wide bucket because it was more comfortable for my kids)
Stainless steel floor and roof
High performance modified 1800 cc VW engine with two fuel filters and in-line oil filter (those of you who understand what an oil change in a VW is will understand that not having to remove the sump plate from the bottom of the engine to clean the screen and pray that it bolts on correctly again, is a huge - no, bigger - a monstrous advantage when changing oil). And it's better for the engine to have a standard in-line old filter anyway.
Tow lights and connection already rigged (like a boat trailer) so all you do is plug it in to your trailer jack on your car or truck.
Plexiglass windshield that folds down to act as a table for those leisurely picnics as you travel the open road and decide this would be a nice spot to have a snack. I actually bolted on a marine BBQ and would use that to grill on occasion.

And much more, but I'm getting tired of typing.
Fully street legal, registered, runs perfectly, every time.Will do 75 mph, but I do not recommend going that fast unless you are in the dunes or on a track!
Sale is being forced by wife who for some reason feels that a '77CJ5, '86 Bronco, and '72 Sandrail are too many toys for one husband to have. This is completely irrational, I know, but it's this or the doghouse. Yes, I have considered the doghouse.
