The XL1200Ltd. seems to have been the test-bed for the 155hp powervalve triple motor, as it became the XLT the year after. No real issues with ours. It's a good stable sea craft, with good power and not-bad seating. It jumps well for it's weight, and shows around 50mph when it's calm on the sea! Great for fresh and salt water adventures! FINALLY THE GREAT NEWS! THIS ONE HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT AND USED ONLY ONCE SINCE THAT REBUILD. PLEASE BE SURE TO LOOK AT THE PICTURES WHICH SHOW THE WORK ORDER. Base price was: $9,499 This revolutionary watercraft features the Yamaha MR-1 engine, which is specially designed for personal watercraft. The MR-1 engine is a 140 hp, four-cylinder, dual overhead cam design with fuel injection and Yamaha's patented five-valve technology.
The compact, lightweight MR-1 engine features a remarkably linear power band with exacting throttle response. There is no throttle hesitation, and power rolls on smoothly throughout the entire rpm range.
Yamaha claims that the fuel efficiency of its four-stroke engine can save consumers $1,000 annually on fuel and oil costs. Of course, an added benefit is the elimination of having to mix oil with the fuel for engine lubrication.
Although it's easy to marvel at the MR-1's engine design, it's the sophisticated styling and sleek lines of the FX140 that catch the eye first. Under the waterline is a progressive, stepper-draft hull design that brings the FX140 on plane quickly and effortlessly. The FX140 comes with a long list of comfort features that includes an all-new instrumentation design; a pneumatically assisted front storage compartment lid, a pneumatically assisted glove box with the industry's first self-draining beverage holder, an automatic electric bilge pump, an integrated reverse lever, a multiple position trim system and five-position tilt steering.
Certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in October 2001, the Yamaha FX140 exceeds CARB's stringent 2004 two-star "very low emissions" requirement, as well as all federal exhaust emission standards. It can be ridden everywhere in the United States that is open to personal watercraft.

WE SPOKE TODAY WITH A MECHANIC AND IT HAS TO DO WITH NOT GETTING ENOUGH WATER FLOW WITH AIR and THUS THIS SOMETIMES CAUSES A COOLING ISSUE. THIS IS NOT A MAJOR REPAIR. MINOR ADJUSTMENT. AND WE ASKED HOW MUCH WOULD SUCH A REPAIR COST? The mechanics response: Under a couple hundred bucks is all. I am happy to speak with you on the phone if you need clarification and we can 3 way call a mechanic we use or one of your choice. This information is not to alarm you.
