Children's Quad, 'Champ Sandquad' with 60cc 2-stroke engine. Easy to start pull-starter with thumb operated throttle, rear drum brake, kill switch and horn. This is a very solidly built quad that, whilst designed for a child, has no problem carrying an adult and due to the long seat even an adult with small child (in front) as a passenger.Whilst it is a child's quad/toy it is much more substantial than many of the cheap quads that have been on sale in recent years and should last a very long time due to it's solid, traditional engineering.The quad has no suspension but the large tyres absorb the bumps and it is very capable on grass, mud and snow, my kids used to enjoy pulling each other in a sledge tied behind it.Has been in storage for a few years as my kids have now outgrown it but having flushed the fuel out of the carburettor, cleaned it and oiled the chain it started up after a couple of pulls and runs nice and smooth. This quad is capable of around 20mph, so quite fast but the throttle can be restricted by adjusting the stop screw (with locknut) for smaller children to learn on and then wound back out once they're capable/sensible enough. Simple, reliable Italian made moped engine with oil bath clutch so no gear changing, clutch lever or stalling, simply "twist (or rather thumb push) n' go". Carburettor has choke lever for easy cold starting, engine has chain drive to rear axle and there is a cable operated drum brake on the rear axle which is operated from the left-handlebar, tyres are barely worn having only been run on soft ground, fuel tank is sound and there is an on/off tap for the fuel supply with an inline fuel filter. Quad has thick & strong fibreglass bodywork in metallic red which is showing signs of age such as scratches and chips to the paint, there is a scuff on the side of the seat and some signs of wear on the footboards and frame etc. but there is no real damage and everything works as it should. Quad is larger than many kids quads. To give an idea of size, it measures 46" long, 24" wide (rear wheel track), seat is 22" above the ground, handlebars are 25" wide and are fitted with grips and controls big enough for adult hands, footboards are complete between the wheels (can't get feet stuck into the wheels) and are big enough for large Men's feet to fit on, there is a full chain guard (although not currently fitted), tyres (145/70 - 6) measure 15" high and 5" wide. We bought it for our Son when he was 6 but it can be easily ridden by much larger children, adults and even two-up with adult/child or two children. It has grab handles at the front and rear for easy handling/turning around and attaching of tow ropes etc. (but it is quite heavy). Also included are some spare parts including; (50cc) cylinder & gaskets, two (50cc) pistons with gudgeon pins and piston clips and a smaller main carburettor jet to suit a 50cc engine build plus the previously mentioned chain guard. Collection only due to size/weight and cash on collection preferred.
