1970 LAMBRETTA DL 200 (stock #L-39)This DL200 was discovered by us in Italy and imported by us to San Francisco. Mechanically checked and refurbished by us in the US.It comes with a current and clear California title.It is a rare find and exceptionally so in the US.This one is in very good “conserved” condition. It was professionally repainted in the original color some time ago and shows a fine patina with some wear and weathering. All mechanical items - engine, trans, chassis - have been fully gone thru and replaced or rebuilt as necessary by a qualified Lambretta technician. No issues, no problems, fitted with electronic ignition for reliability. (can provide original parts if desired)It looks very good, runs great and rides fantastic, with strong acceleration, solid handling and good brakes.This bike is "done" and ready to enjoy.Odo shows 15K kilometers, believed to be accurate.The seat is original however it has minor tears and some wear evident. We will sell with a new correct seat if you prefer. It is not the original paint, however a very nice respray done professionally in the original color in Italy some years ago. Period correct, authentic and largely original condition overall. There are a few minor trim pieces that are not correct, however the right ones are available under $50 on the internet . Engine completely gone through by professional Lambretta technician, restored with all correct parts and replacement of anything worn or broken, and fitted with quality electronic ignition system.This is a genuine Italian made scoot, unmolested and largely original ... an uncommon find for the true Lambretta enthusiast.>>>>>>>>>The DL200 is regarded one of the most significant Lambretta models, as they were among the last to be made at the Innocenti works in Italy. The Italian made Lambrettas have become very collectable based on their rarity and advanced engineering. The GP/DL models were first produced in Italy at the beginning of 1969. In the Italian market they were badged as the "De Luxe, or DL” and were badged as "Grand Prix or GP” for export markets. Sadly, Innocenti decided to halt scooter production and the last scooters rolled off their Italian assembly line in 1971. The DL/GP model was the last scooter model to be produced by the Italian factory, and was later licensed to a factory in India, where they were produced for a few more years. The Italian version is considered to be superior in quality to the Indian, and they are highly coveted. The GP/DL range was designed by the famous Italian design studio of , who was also acclaimed for designing several legendary vehicles for , , and .As the last of the line, this series has all of the best technology developed by Lambretta and the 200cc model was the fastest Lambretta ever made with a top speed over 70 mph.Only around 9,000 of the DL/GP 200’s were produced in Italy, making them the rarest of all the Innocenti 200’s.These were not sold in the U.S., and as far as we know, there are only a handful of the genuine Italian-made DL/GP 200’s in the U.S. today.This DL is certainly one of the best we have seen, not over restored, but very attractive and mechanically A1.This ain’t a garage queen, but a real sharp, rideable classic. Virtually certain to retain value, likely to appreciate and really fun to ride.There are not a lot of them left in this condition worldwide, certainly only a handful in the US.
