this is a 1970 COOT ATV it has all time 4 wheel drive thru a CVT that drives a 2 speed transmission
you have hi-lo gearing. high gives you a top speed of 25 mph in lo-lo ti has tons od pulling power and torque. the original engine was 12HP tecumseh, but with it being bought by toro there are no parts for tecumseh engines, i replaced it with a 10HP diesel engine. this is a perfect engine for the COOT. the COOT can take a driver and 3 passengers.
it was not designed for high horsepower engines but for high torque engine. the diesel fits the bill and it runs at the same speeds as the gas engine it replaced. it still has its original tires and they still work good. it has front lights but no rear. the reason is because the COOT's two tubs can articulate 45 degrees away from each other, this keeps all for tires on the ground at all times. better traction.
the tubs are steel so they can be repaired easily with welding. most of these when you can find them have the bottoms rusted thru, this one still has its original bottom, some one drilled holes in the bottom so it never had any water stand in it. yes if you fill in the holes its amphibious.
this thing can pretty much go anywhere. it needs some TLC to get her in top shape, i cant hardly get in and out of it due to a bad hip, so i'm selling it to some lucky off roader, hunter or explorer.
