For sale is a completely restored 1997 SPX is mint condition.  The good:  this is a top notch build with over $8000 invested in it (I will itemize most of the parts later). The bad:  I did a water test yesterday on the trailer and there is a slight water leak at the base gasket.  No damage was done to the motor, but this will need to be repaired before it can be ridden.  Not a difficult repair at all, but with vacation and work I will not be able to get to it until mid July at the earliest, well past prime selling season.  Someone can buy this for a fraction of what I spent building it and have a wonderful machine for a mere $50 top end gasket set and a weekend project.  If it does not sell in this 7 day listing, I will store it until the off season and sell next spring.   This ski has never been ridden, only water tested on a trailer for about two minutes so I could inspect it for leaks.  Well...I found a leak and shut it down. The good:  OK, first of all, this is an extremely rare SPX find.  The donor SPX was missing a handful of parts, but it was a new ski that had never been sold or registered before I picked it up.  The hull is in absolutely mint condition.  The carbs, pump, rear battery box all came from the zero hours SPX.As you can see in the pics, this SPX was stripped to the bare shell and built from scratch using all new or excellent condition used parts where new was not available.  The complete motor and exhaust is a used core, but it was completely rebuilt using a new Hot Rods crankshaft, counterbalance, Rotary valve assembly and all new top end with Wossner pistons bored by Full Bore. The motor has a Mel Miller head with 43cc domes for recreational riding still good with 91 octane fuel.  This SPX has some nice aftermarket parts, but other than the rec domes and aftermarket flame arrestors, this was set up to be a reliable recreational ski. Some of the aftermarket goodies include:Complete UMI steering systemWatoose carbon fiber hoodJet Dynamics intake grateTrim tabs anodized blackSkat Trak impellerWorx SponsonProk Flame arrestorsR&D 85/88 venturi, steering nozzleThe carbs are new from the zero hours ski, but were completely rebuilt and jetted for the Prok flame arrestors.  Choke plates were removed and primer installed. The original MPEM was bad, a new 96 XP MPEM with zero hours is in this build.I have shown a pic of where I noticed the leak.  I immediately shut the ski down and took it out of the water.  It was started every 15 minutes for three hours to ensure no moisture remains in the motor.  It has also been heavily fogged to prevent the slightest possibility of rust.Any questions, please ask through email. Here is an itemized list of what was spent on the ski.  This does not include everything, but this is the majority of what I can recall.Donor 1997 SPX with zero hours:     $1000UMI steering system:  $425Handlebars, UMI thumb throttle and button holder:  $250Core motor w/slightly ported intake: $400Hot rods Crank:  $645Counterbalance:  $125Rotorary valve assembly:  $75New OEM rave valves:  $80Top end bore with Wossner pistons:  $370Powder coating:  $400Rave valve rebuild kits:  $35New 96 XP MPEM:  $450New DESS key:  $50New storage bin with new inner bins and fire extinguisher:  $150Used seat:  $75Jettrim seat cover with embroidery:  $155Seat cover install:  $40New carbon fiber Watoose hood:  $400Rhaas motor mounts and lock washers:  $170New OEM starter:  $200New OEM oil pump:   $50Carb rebuild kits:  $100Needles, seats, jets:  $50Primer kit:  $30Prok filters w/adapters and outerwears:  $100Hydrodipped PTO cover:  $80Decals:  $225Hydroturf:  $90Gauges:  $200New VTS housing, motor and cover:  $200New gas tank:  $75Aquavein intake grate:  $130R&D 85/88 nozzle:  $250Skat Trak impeller:  $295Work sponsons:  $120Trim tabs:  $100New battery:  $100This list does not include all the new hoses, fuel line, filters, all new check valves and grommets, etc...Once again, this is an amazing build but it needs a minor repair, therefore the reduced price.  Any questions, please ask!! Trailer is not included, but if a trailer is needed I will sell the one in the pics with the ski for an additional $850.  It is a brand new 2017 Yacht Club I picked up a couple days ago at the dealer for $850.
