Make: Vespa Engine Size: 125cc
Model Year: 1973 Fuel Type: Gas

This is a 1973 Vespa Primavera 125cc "Small Frame" Scooter.  It is an unrestored survivor made in Genoa, Italy.  It is not a reproduction or an Asian restoration (please read up on these and NEVER buy one).  I have owned it since 2007 and can only tell you about repairs or issues since then.Body: Very straight with light surface rust in a few spots. I have no reason to believe it has ever been in a serious collision.  All 50+ year old scooters have been tipped over and this is no exception. Has a hole drilled in the leg shield where there was once a bad mirror installed.  The hole is covered with a tax disc from Bulgaria  made in 1938, which I bought on eBay for a couple of bucks and thought was a cool way to cover a hole.  To my knowledge, this scooter has never been to Bulgaria, or any other former Soviet republic.  Legshield trim is missing, and upper corners of legshield have some bent bits.  Original "tractor" style tail-light and all reflectors are on board. Lens was replaced by previous owner and doesn't really match.  Great "script" badge that only showed up for a few years is in good shape and polishes up nicely. Rust-free floorboards - little rubber floormat between them is dry-rotted and loose.Paint: Original orange.  Very good in some spots.  Worst on cowl covers (brush painted orange by a previous owner).  I have no reason to believe it has ever been in a serious collision.  All scooters have been tipped over, and this is no exception.  Good amount of dings and scrapes throughout, but it is only original once.Motor: Original with matching serial numbers.  Runs strong with good compression.  Cruises with a 140 pound rider (at 5000+ feet elevation) at 55 mph.  Should be re-jetted if you live at sea level. Starts easy, even when cold. Cowl and flywheel cover are newer.  Some wiring and spark plug harness are new. Transmission:  4 speed with manual clutch.  Shifts smoothly through all gears.  Sometimes drops out of 2nd gear into neutral.  Clutch has good friction and is not jumpy.  Have changed gearbox oil with good quality non-detergent oil every year I've owned it.Fuel System: Tank is aftermarket replacement.  Had no tank when I bought it. Carb has been cleaned and serviced regularly.  New fuel tap, does not leak any fuel when parked.  Choke knob works just fine.  Holes drilled for fuel tap in wrong place by previous owner.  Go figure.  I've always used Motul 800 synthetic 2T oil in premium fuel.Electrical:  Was a 6 volt battery model when I bought it.  Have had a 12 volt no-battery system installed.  Lights are pretty bright.  Hi-beam, lo-beam, tail light, and brake light all work.  Turn signals are your arms.  Battery compartment got some corrosion from leaky battery (removed now).  Removed as much as I could and sprayed black.  Still a bit of rust in there. Horn button has fallen out of housing, but you can still sound the horn by pressing the plate with the tip of your thumb. As it is a non-battery bike, the horn has an awesome old school sound. And you can bend the pitch by changing the throttle!Tires: 2 newer Continental Zippy 1 sport tires.  Very soft and grippy.  No rot or visible wear.  Really handles nicely with these.  Rims were replaced by good aftermarket ones.Seat: Is original and pretty rough.  Exhaust:  Leo Vince performance exhaust installed.  Sprayed black after some battery fluid spilled on it and caused a bit of surface corrosion.  Battery is now removed.Stand:  Good stand with new boots.Suspension: Original best I can tell.  Rides like a 44 year old scooter.Brakes: Good with plenty of lining leftMirrors:  2 good aftermarket mirrors to keep you legal. Speedometer/Odometer:  Worked when I bought it, then kind of worked, now does not work. Sorry that I can't tell you what is wrong or how serious a repair this would be.Trailer Hitch: Yes, it has a trailer hitch.  No, I have never pulled a trailer.  It was on it when I bought it.  It really looks like it was made for a Vespa.  I've never seen one, but I've heard there were once small 1 wheeled trailers made for these.  You can tell your friends it is for your Airstream. And you will get comments about it, believe me.Clean Colorado Title!A few things about this auction:  This machine is 44 years old.  It is being sold as-is with no warranty. You are responsible for pick-up.  I would consider delivery with my pickup within 100 miles of ZIP code 80521, for a charge of $1 per mile, but you must arrange this before bidding.$500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of end of auction.  Remaining balance due within 7 days via certified check.I am re-listing this because of non-paying bidder.  Please don't do that.
