PLEASE READ THIS FIRST:  I am selling this Yamaha 225DR w/ reverse and will only correspond to inquiries made through the Ebay system. I bought this Yamaha back in 1988 from "Bobby Js Yamaha" in AlbuquerqueNM. I have the original title that I lost and then found a couple of years later. We moved around alot and had a mountain home in Red River ,NM. Had a blast with this ATV in the mountains for about 8 years, and never needed to put a plate on it. This title is the original with my name on it and I think something can be worked out to transfer the name. This is a very sought after model, and hard to find, it has been in many moves that we made and always stored in a garage. What it needs:   A  new battery (I tried to charge it but it will not hold a charge) It has a pull cord start and that's what got it running. I cleaned it all up was driving around the yard with it (we have 4 acres).  The reverse gear works perfect and the drive shaft is in perfect working condition. Will need to rebuild the carburetor or get a new one.  The last time I drove it, (about 3 years ago) it was about 95 degrees and I went for 10 minutes or so and it quit running, let it sit for a couple minutes and it started right up, it repeated this several times till I got it home. It needs a cover for the air filter and a new oil drain plug. The lever to put it in reverse has a broken spring, but it works to show there is no problem with the gears. I know parts are available on Ebay, but, I have other interests and I don't want to work on it. My neighbor back 3 years ago was a mechanic and said it has excellent compression and the electrical was working good. He advised to get a new carb or have someone who knows what they're doing to rebuild it. The overall condition is good to fair, and to sell the parts from it would be great, especially the gas tank, shroud and seat. Let alone it does run, the engine is worth big bucks. This what I have and you can have it!, I will not hold it for a long period of time(a couple of hours at the most), if I know you are serious and are coming to look at it. I WILL NOT TALK TRADE. I know exactly what I have and if you know this model you will fully understand that this is a rare find. It is being sold AS IS with NO GUARANTEE.  email dschumann2014 at yahoocom Thanks for looking and serious inquiries welcomed.
