1986 Yamaha Tri-z 250 3wheeler  Yamaha's best 2 stroke three wheeler ever built and the last year too.  Just like a Honda 250r or Kawasaki Tecate.  Model YTZ250S
Vin JY31RX007GC000902 -
This is the last year this bike was manufactured. This is the one with a six speed transmission. I hate to see this bike go.  I purchased her to restore but since I have one in beautiful shape its time to make room for a new project. So sadly I am letting her go.  She runs and needs some love, she is not jump on rider ready.  Its 98% original only the front master cylinder was off a 85 and the rear tires are not oem.  Check out the video and review the pics.  I will work with whatever shipper you choose however its your responsibility to secure a shipper and they must come to my home to pick. Once picked up she is your responsibility I cannot control the time it takes to ship to you. You are purchasing her as is as described and as seen in the video/pics. She has a clean vin and a notarized bill of sale will be provided. I am not the original owner and do not know her entire history. I do not have any original paperwork.  Condition:
See video  and pics.
98% original
Front master cylinder is from an 85 and 1 of the cap screws is stripped. no fluid currently so make sure to get it fixed before riding.
Rear rotor is loose so I pulled the rear caliper and its included.
Brakes should be rebuilt.
Needs a new clutch cable the existing one is stretched to the limit and needs to be replaced, still shifts but scary with no brakes so get them done too.
Headlight 1 light bulb is out, temp light works. This is probably one of the nicest headlights I have seen in a long time. Still has the original OEM stickersFront fork seals need to be replaced. fork boots have tears and oil discoloration, rear shock is springy
Handle bars are original but were painted white at some point. The have some wear and some minor rust. Grips are oem and the end are wearing away they should be replaced
All electrical switches work as they should
Shifts thru all gears. Engine has 150psi of compression, she does smoke so some refreshing of the top end is probably in order.
Coolant overflow bottle hose has some cracks, bottle is fine but couldn't ride her much without coolant so make sure to fix it before you ride it. Rear fenders have pealing worn bubbling stickers a couple of small repairs on the very back side of the fenders. See last pics. There is also a melt mark by the pipe where the z250 sticker is on the side. Some dirt and scratches on all fenders, rear fender brackets and fenders need screws. Front fender is in good shape no cracks or repairs just some dirt and scratches,  Air box cover and Radiator shrouds in great shape
Front sprocket guard was removed to replace the chain but I never got around to changing it out, you should and I have the guard for you.
Silencer has a dent at the end on the underside. Pipe is in nice shape minor surface rust or paint wear
Rear light is there and needs to be connectedFrame is in good shape some paint chips scratches etc... still has the original paint.
Rear axle has some rust on itFront tire is oem and tread is worn, holds air well and not dry rotted.  Rear tires are not original but the rims are.  Tires hold air well and treads are deep and nice.  1 rear rim has a nick by the bead and can be seen in the pics
Gas tank is in good shape
Air box all original and complete.  The filter is an aftermarket uni.  Looks clean.
Left foot peg has a slight backwards bend, can easily be straightened.
Seat has some tears and needs a new cover (no damage to the body of the seat just needs a new cover)
Cold start with choke it takes about 5 kicks to start her and once warmed up she will she kicks over on the first or second try.  She idles fine as seen in the pics.
I am not the original owner and never ran her long so I highly recommend going through everything before jumping on and taking her for a spin.
Frame and motor serial numbers match
If you are looking to clean up for riding or fully restore an 86 Tri-z This is the bike for you... if you are looking to ride it when it arrives this is not the bike for you. I am only listing this bike once. If it doesn't hit the reserve I will part her out (that would be a shame). The reserve is low but I am not giving her away.
