This is a TRUE electric 4x4. Competitive Hybrids do not allow you to run in all-electric 4x4. They either utilize a single motor and driveshaft system (very noisey and less power) or they require you to engage the gas engine in order to utilize the 4x4 (defeating the purpose of silent/scentless electric). The Switchback utilizes Dual Direct Drive motors to power each axle, powered by individual controllers; this gives you 38HP and 1200 Amps of controller power. The gas generator can be engaged for added range and battery charging if desired, or the car can be driven completely in electric.
