If you can't pay - Don't buy. 1965 Lambretta Cento 100 - only 3558 produced in 1965 - predecessor to the Starstream. Lambretta was often touted as “The worlds Finest Scooter” and by many considered the Ferrari in the scooter world. “Get around better - Travel Lambretta” and “Viva Cento” were slogans often used in the 60’s. The 1965 Cento 100 J-model followed a complete redesign of Lambretta’s in 1964 and was the predecessor to the Starstream. Only 3558 were produced during 1965. In 1967 a Cento, ridden by a member of the Nottingham Lambretta Club achieved 159.6 miles per Gallon. It was considered to be a cheaper alternative to public transportation. Test-riders at the time stated: With a small displacement scooter like the Cento, top speed is less important than the lively performance to take the sting of routine commuting or shopping trips. The Cento moves briskly away from stops and lively acceleration is always available. A Cento was also a starring in the 1966 movie Georgy Girl. This is one of the best un-restored original models you will find. Never painted, dropped or abused. Only 1,600 miles. Not a show-scooter, but with some signs of use and a ton of class. All original including break-in stickers, owners manual, keys, black CA plate, etc. Fires up instantly - runs, shifts, drives and stops great. Has a clear CA title showing first year sold in the US as 1966, but it is a 1965 model.
