This is a turn key custom built dune buggy. Not a VW frame but a lighter weight custom frame using 2" square tubing with 1/8th. inch aluminum diamond plate floors. Front end is stock VW. Engine is a VW 1641 cc., dual port rebuilt heads, new cylinders, pistons, rings and push rod tubes. New 34-PICT-3 carb. and a new SVDA distributor with electronic module. IRS transaxle. New tires, brakes and brake lines. EMPI shifter and 10 Gal. spun aluminum fuel tank. Built with a lot of ground clearance for desert running. Runs great. Fully registered and licensed in Calif. as a 1970 VW with the original VW VIN. Reg. just renewed and good to August 2017. Body is a custom body built for a long travel suspension. The car was built so the with a few mods. the body could come off and the car run as a rail. Comes with a tow bar and some extra parts. Car was built in 2014 and is the fifth one I have built. It was built to honor the first dune buggy my Dad built for us in 1964. I have over 100 pictures of the entire build.
