Description

We Could’ve Made Them out of Titanium – But We Thought You’d Like Something Tough Slides are a critical snowmobile wear item, and slide quality can make or break your snowmobile plans. With the annual snowmobile season being so short for most enthusiasts, losing just a few days to replacing slides once – or even more than once – a season can be a pain

At Yamaha, we understand this dilemma and that’s why we introduced our DuPont® Slides. These slides feature DuPont® Vespel® material inserts and are made from a space-age polymer/composite material that is stronger than hardened steel, aluminum or even titanium and are made using a compression molding process. In fact, they deliver 15T scale Rockwell hardness of about 80 (UHMW – Ultra High Molecular Weight – slide runner hardness rating is about R64) and are capable of withstanding extreme friction and heat environments.

  • Vespel pieces placed at a 45-degree angle across the heavy wear section of the slide for constant contact and even wear
  • Lightweight, yet strong
  • Partially made with current UHMW plastic slide runner material
  • Offered in convenient 144" length – simply cut to size if your track is shorter
  • Retains the same dimensions as existing slides
  • Sold individually
