Here is a VERY rare Lockley wrangler 295 ATV. This is a NO reserve auction! There is very little info available on these. I will tell you what I have found. Lockley was a manufacturing company in New Castle Pa. Did a lot for the government during the Vietnam war. Towards the end they needed to diversify into other things. (they are long out of business now) In the early 70s they got into the recreational market. Bought a sail boat company and made sailboats. Also started to make these Lockley ATVs. This came with a 295 JLO engine. Drive was of the torque converter sled style. I bought this from a man who started this project 10years ago and lost interest. He installed a 10 or 12 hp Kohler engine. Spent over $900 just on the short block engine. Has not run in 8 years. Engine is free and was stored properly. Also he has removed the electric start unit he had on it for another project. Has installed a reverse gear box off the jack shaft. Made a foot pedal throttle instead of original twist throttle, All the work he performed id quality. Just lost interest. The starting bid is less than the engine is worth! You could finish up what was started or install an engine of your choice. It would not be to hard to install a motorcycle engine of some type. The fiberglass body on this ATV is very nice. Has no cracks or chunks out of it. Has only a few small spider webs in it. Gel coating is still very nice. Would be a great parade vehicle for fun or your business. This is NOT an amphibious type body. It is NOT water tight. Would probably sink if you tried.
If you are looking for a different fun project for this winter. This is just the ticket. Is for sale locally at my shop. So could be pulled before the end of auction. Will not ship. Will help to load on your prearranged shipper. This thing rolls easy. Original tires hold air but are weather checked. I also sell under procycle-mcatv. 100% positive feedback. You will not be disappointed in this rare atv! Call or email with any questions 814-720-4743
