This is a genuine 1961 Yardman Corvette promo Go kart. This is not a cheesy Shriners replica with stickers for chrome! This is the REAL DEAL. Originally produced by Yardman for promo in Chevy dealers, they were available to purchase with your new 'Vette. Made in very limited quantities from 1958 to 1961 An awesome piece of vintage, Barn find automobilia, to add to your Collection. This one is mostly original, missing its windshield and deck lid, and its original Tecumseh/Lausen engine was replaced with a later Briggs 3 hp, that had a new head gasket. It runs and drives. It appears to have been repainted its original Red, but still retains the original reflective light, emblem, and license decals. The body is in good shape, with a couple of seams having been re-bonded, and a couple small pieces missing at the bottom lip,( see seat photo) all easy repairs. At some point the right front wheel was damaged and the left rear was used up front, so a modern style wheel was used as a drive wheel, but the original sprocket is present. The Chassis has all linkage, jack shaft/belt drive, and brakes, as well as the 1961 "6032-2" serial number for this kart. The left and right body supports are new. Please remember that this is 55 years old, but it can be driven as is or restored. In 2014 one sold at Mecum for $7500. Local pick up, However, If you arrange shipping, I will crate it for and additional $400.00. It is fragile and big/heavy. I suggest insurance above and beyond for this kart.
