And like all real classics, the Vespa PX only gets better with time and retouching.19th October 1977: Piaggio launches a radically different Vespa model, with a modern design and avant-garde technical content. Called PX, the scooter was first produced in a 125cc displacement and cost 673,000 liras (less than 350 Euro). Soon after, the 125 was joined by 150 and 200cc displacements. In 1977 Jimmy Carter became the new occupant of the White House. In the USSR Leonid Brezhnev took over the Kremlin. Amnesty International won the Nobel Peace Prize and Niki Lauda won the Formula 1 in a Ferrari. At Cape Kennedy NASA launched Voyager 1 and 2, today 12.6 and 10 billion km from the Earth respectively, at the outer limits of our solar system. Thirty seven years later the Vespa PX too continues to travel, on a less epic voyage but not without glory - over two million units sold since the launch, more than a million of these just the PX 150, the single most widely sold Vespa in history.VESPA PX 125/150: TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSEngine - Single cylinder catalysed two strokeBore - 57 mmStroke - 52.5 mm (PX 125); 58 mm (PX 150)Displacement - 123.4 cc(PX 125); 151 cc (PX 150)Fuel - Unleaded petrolPower - 7.6 bhp at 6,250 rpm (PX 125); 8.2 bhp at 6,000 rpm(PX 150)Start - Electric and kick starterCooling - Forced airInduction - Rotating valve in crankcaseGearbox - Four speed, on handlebarFrame - Pressed steel monocoqueFront suspension - Oscillating arm, coil spring and dual effect hydraulic shock absorberRear suspension - Hydraulic shock absorber, 88 mm strokeRear brake -  150 mm drumWheel rims - In sheet metal, 2.10 - 10"Tires - Tube type 3.50 - 10"Length - 1,810 mmWidth - 740 mmWheelbase - 1,260 mmSeat height - 805 mmDry weight - 106 kgMax. speed - 87 km/h (PX 125); 91 km/h (PX 150)Fuel tank - 8 litres (of which 1.6 litres reserve)Consumption - 30 km/l (ECE 40 cycle) Emissions - Euro 1  Every item that could be replaced was replaced new, all other parts were restored, list belowNew Parts   Wiring loom   All Cables and Housings   Headlamp   Tail lamp   emblems   Horn   Speedometer   Horn and Light Switch   Voltage Regulator   Clutch and Brake Levers   Steering Lock   Glove Box Lock   Floor Rails and Rubbers   Cowl Rubbers   All Small Rubber Grommets   Grips   Fender Strips and Hardware   Seats and Upholstery   Fuel Line   Back Shock   Front Shock   Front Brake Pads   Back Brake Pads   Tires   Tubes   White Walls   Center Stand with all Hardware   Center Stand Boots   Fuel Petcock   Fuel Lever   Fender Crest   Foot Brake Lever and Rubber   Brake Switch at Foot   Fuel Tank Rubber   Center Mat and Rails   Front fender   All Nuts and Bolts All Hardware   Front Hub   Back Hub   Helmet Lock   Spare Tire Holder   Rims   Cowl Lock   Front Suspension Cover   Front Suspension Spring   All Parts in Front Suspension including Bearings   Front Axel   Front Suspension Housing Unit   Steering Bearings   Key Lock Cover   All Bulbs   Front Bulb Holder Engine(Basically everything was replaced with the exception of the cases)   Cylinder and Piston   All 7 Bearings   Seals Gaskets   Case Bolts   Clutch Plates   Clutch Springs   Clutch Basket   Woodruff Keys   Stator Plate   Carburetor 22mm   Air Filter   Crank   Shifting Cross   Gear Selector   Cylinder Cover   Fly Wheel   Head Bolts   Fly Wheel Cover   Carburetor Cover   Air Bellow   Kick Start   Kick start Gear   Kick Start Rubber pads   Engine Main Bushing Rubbers   Engine Main Bolt   Junction Box   Cable adjustors   Exhaust   Ignition   Back Axel Restored Parts    Side Cowls   Fork   Headset   Body   Fuel Tank   Engine cases    FREE SHIPPING to you! I personally believe this is one of the most important parts to re-place when restoring a Vintage Vespa.  Not re-placing this mount will make the engine vibrate the body from the hard rubber as well as sit unaligned and lopsided causing the scooter to handle poorly. The Front Suspension completely re-placed, I replace every part with original Piaggio(Vespa) parts with the exception of the fork and housing. This ensures the scooter to be safe, with perfect handling.  Registration-No one likes loading a newly purchased motor scooter into the back of a truck just to wait in long lines at the local Dept of Vehicles and or running around to inspection shops – in my 10 years of selling quality Vespas on eBay I have found a universal method that will get a registration and license plate that’s registered into your name and address by just filling out some simple paperwork and sending it in to a good titling company I have worked with for 10 years. This Vespa will arrive with all paperwork needed to register the scooter into your name and address. Buyer is responsible for the costs associated with titling the Vespa into their name and insurance.
