1999 1200 GP Ski Built by the Greater Yamaha Racing Team Wild Billy piloted this to the ProWorld Championship in 1999
NO RESERVE AUCTION
Just six of these were built by the Yamaha factory for it's racing program in 1999.  It was never registered due to it only being used in professional racing events. I am the third owner. The second owner owned the sponsoring dealership and initially refused to sell it to me the first time I offered to buy it in 2003.
In 2010 I received word that it was again on display at the dealership. I went to see if that could possibly be true and found my vision of racing Nirvana!.  I walked a circle around before I even touched it to convince myself it wasn't a dream.  I had watched this magnificent machine win the ProWorld Championship and being a mechanic I new the wonders of her design, especially over 10 years later after the introduction of the complicated electronic mechanics that make it almost impossible for anyone to wrench on these things without about $150,000 in new computers and software.  I was committed to doing whatever it took to make it mine, BECAUSE it WAS going to be MINE. Early in 2010, still in the dregs of the nasty economic downturn, the ski owner gave me a call which:  "Max?  This is Joel, the owner of the GP1200 ProRacer.  I've listed this on eBay and today my sales manager reminded me of your love for this baby and I thought I'd give you a call."  Inside I shouted "Holy ......!" but to him I quietly asked "Are you serious?"  I was assured he was and it was for immediate sale.  I was out of state at the time and by the time I reached my wife to place the winning bid the listing had ended, but fortunately the ski had not sold.  I immediately called Joel, paid him a deposit and said I'd be down to West Palm Beach within a day.  This is unique ski, even considering the industry exact standards of Yamaha factory built pro racing skis. Although it was one of six factory machines, it was truly one of a kind because Wild Billy loved to win and could ask for the best from the best and get it.
Greater Yamaha of West Palm Beach had invested over $30,000.00 in the ski by the time the ski was ready for it's pro racing runs which resulted in the '99 pro championship win.    Todd LaChance of TL Performance Racing ported and built the engine, the Trued and Blueprinted custom hull set the ski to ride on choppy water. The best factory racing pipes were installed; ADM head copper gaskets, UMI bearing steering system handlebars, Skat-Trak jet pump and impeller, RIVA racing trim tabs, Beach racing stabilizer sponsons, and 55mm Buck Shot Magnum triple carbs revised by Group K, are but a few of the upgrades.   In 2009 the West Palm Beach dealership had Todd LaChance "revisit" the engine to the above specs (the case has been magnafluxed and the cylinders honed.) The crankshaft is Yamaha Factory Racing forged for Greater Yamaha and RIVA Yamaha. There are under five hours of use on the engine.  I also own a GP1200R pro racer, another world pro championship winner and yes it's faster but it rides and feels like a truck .... heavy and unforgiving. This GP1200 is like a thoroughbred - light, nimble and fast.  The new generation SHO Racer SUPER CHARGE 400 HP is also heavy and rides like a tank. I think if you rode an assortment of these WaveRunners you'd believe that the 1999 was the new one.  It is obedient!  It flies over the waves, landing gracefully when the torque of the big heavy 4 stroke kicks in and lands the beast to save the day .... and you get off the ski to live and ride another day!  Having said that this ski is not a toy - it demands respect or it can hurt you.    This ski runs on racing fuel only.  The winner of the auction has the option of including the trailer. All items are sold as is. All sales are final.  You are covered by both eBay and Paypal buyer representation guarantees.  Please check my selling feedback. I reserve the right TO END THIS SALE ANY TIME as it is also being offered in other venues.
I have all the proper documentation from the Dealership available for the new owner. I can crate the craft, at the buyers expense, for overseas transport or shipping to the continental United States. All shipping arrangements are your responsibility. I am willing to do what is necessary at this end to facilitate the shipping decisions you've made.  Again, any and all fees for shipping, crating or delivery are the buyers sole responsibility and any expenses incurred by the seller for these services must be paid in advance. Good luck and thank you for looking.
I have garage carts and can shrink wrap the ski on the cart at the Marina prior to creating. I am also willing to disassemble the trailer to fit in the crate if given advance notice before delivery (no less than 48 hours.)  Any customs fees, tax or other import fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
An immediate deposit of $500 deposited to my Paypal account at the end of the auction or time of purchase is a REQUIREMENT OF PURCHASE. The balance in cash, certified cashiers check, money order or verified wire transfer is to be paid within 5 days of the auction end or at the time of pick up, whichever is first. Any additional Paypal payments will ONLY be accepted with prior written approval and an additional payment for any Paypal fees. This ski is listed in other venues and I reserve the right to remove it from eBay at any time. Email me at macquajet1@aol with questions. Thank you.
