For sale - one Polaris Sportsman 400 HO (High output 455cc) all wheel drive quad bike. This quad bike was previously known as the Hawkeye and features a mid sized frame size. This quad was manufactured on the 17.03.10 (please see date stamp) and sold new in October 2010.Polaris are a respected quad bike manufacturer who have been making off road vehicles since 1984. They hold the market share in America where they are made. This is a premium quad which has a 455cc engine with lots of torque and speed. It is shaft driven with selectable all wheel drive, active hill descent braking control, a constant variable transmission and Polaris's highly acclaimed independant rear suspension system. It is easy to drive and gives lots of fun. The Sportsman 400 was independelty reviewed with the following summary 'The new Sportsman 400 HO, with independent rear suspension (IRS), which actually uses the same 455cc motor as the Sportsman 500 HO. Polaris has always had some of the best handling utility ATVs on the market thanks to the McPherson struts in the front and their independent rear suspension. The 400 HO model is what is referred to as a mid-sized model and is aimed at the.. consumer that doesn’t need the size and power of the larger models but still wants a fun, capable, utility. This machine comes equipped with all wheel drive and “Fun” would be a good word to describe the 400 HO. The light and nimble chassis made it the perfect model for blasting down the trails. “I felt the suspension was plush and predictable and compliments the chassis well,” stated our test rider, Colby Kostman. Polaris has also developed a new starter clutch, which is utilized in the 400 HO that eliminates the need for the low range but still allows for plenty of low speed grunt. The quad has just 89 hours of use and a very low 1195 miles (quad is still in use so this will increase slightly). It comes with a copy of the user manual, service manual and 2 keys.The quad is in very good condition and has always been dry stored and hosed down after every ride. This shows by the condition of the undercarriage with minimal corrosion.The quad had a full service in late May 2016, using only genuine Polaris products - receipts from local Polaris dealer pictured. This included the following work:* Oil and filter change - Polaris PS4 Oil (5w 40).* Polaris fuel filter.* Polaris air filter and sleeve.* Polaris air breather filter.* Spark plug replacement.* Polaris front drive fluid change.* Polaris rear transmission fluid change.* Radiator coolant drain down and refill.* All grease nipples greased.* New brake pads front and rear - premium Goldfren Gold.* New Sportsman decals front.
* New 50mm ball hitch and draw bar.The quad drives very well and the tyres have a reasonable amount of tread left on them. There are no known mechanical faults with the quad. The aesthetic condition is good but please bear in mind there are scratches to the plastic cab commensurate with age and use. There is also a small tear to the rear of the seat and a small split to the front left mud guard (glued).Collection in person from my home address in Clitheroe (20 minutes from J31 of M6/30 minutes from J36 of M6) OR I may be able to deliver to addresses within 100 miles for van hire and fuel costs. No postage overseas and no payment by escrow etc.Any trial or test welcomed on my fields subject to appropriate security being given (cash, driving license etc).
