If you follow my auctions you know I have been selling used ATV's on eBay for longer than any other powersports seller and this week found aa very nice Polaris Ranger. The Polaris Ranger has set the standard for side by side UTV's for about 15 years. They are always just a little ahead of the curve and seem to know how to build good machines. The Polaris's built in 200-2005 were all still built in the good ol' USA and seem to be a little heavier duty and hold up better than what they are building today. This machine should last FOREVER with just oil changes and air filter replacements. This is the very desirable full size UTV with enough room for three American size adults in the front seat and it is also the model that has the solid rear axle like a one ton truck! Hard to find an incredibly tough. Look at the size of the rear axle! When you hook a trailer to one of the solid axle UTV's you don't drop the center down and lighten the front end. All you do is weight the rear tires and you still have full suspension travel in the back. These early Rangers have a cult like following because of it. They can be loaded with extremely heavy sprayer tanks and they don't wallow side to side, either. Tough as nails and they still have a great ride because of the long travel suspension. It has a liquid cooled (radiator has been moved up to keep it out of the wheat stubble and when you put on a canvas cab in the winter it provides the heat in the cab-a $500 option) 500cc four stroke engine with 34 HP (6 less than a 700) and a fully automatic transmission with high/low range and reverse. It has electric start, the ability to pull 1200lbs with the receiver hitch on the back and it has a dump bed for about any purpose you would demand of it. It is in really good shape and has 800 hours of use. At $4995 this is as inexpensive as I get a "name brand" 4x4 UTV and it is the type you would only have to buy once and keep forever. It will do anything you ask of it and it will shock you how much you will use it. Kids love them since they can ride together with "grandpa" and be buckled in for safety. A real bonding experience.
